The padded back, seat and arms upholstered in close-nailed blue, pink and green gros point needlework with downswept foliate carved armrests above a shaped apron centred by a scallop-shell, flanked by further foliate sprays, on cabriole legs and scrolled feet and castors, restorations

A very similar chair is in the Victoria and Albert Museum, (W.67-1926) from the collection of G.B. Croft Lyons. An almost identical chair was sold anonymously, in these Rooms, 5 July 1990, lot 45.
