A French brass quarter-striking and repeating carriage clock with alarm, late 19th century
The fluted pillars case with balustraded handle and filigree galleries, on bun feet, with plain gilt mask to the chapter ring with recessed circlets for the painted Arabic numerals, with filigree mount to the centre, conforming alarm ring below, the twin barrel movement with later replacement platform lever escapement, strike/repeat/alarm on two gongs to the backplate -- 5¼in. (13.5cm.) high
