Circa 1795, incised B to both pieces and late 19th century, imitation Sevres RF marks, incised script M and impressed AcM to can
The first painted with a red cap of liberty supported on a Masonic triangle and a plumb line flanked by palm and oak branches tied with a tri-colour ribbon inscribed ofrante a l'amitié, the saucer with facaes tied with tri-colour ribbon and with myrtle and oak branches within a circular cartouche between bands of key-pattern and berried foliage (crack to base of handle, restoration to rim of cup and saucer, star crack to centre of saucer); the second with a red cap of liberty within a gilt sunburst surround and with a Masonic triangle and plumb line to the saucer within a similar sunburst, on a ground of forget-me-nots and red poppies between gilt line rims (chip to top rim of can, two chips one with an associated crack to the saucer) (2)
