Provenance: the private cellar of a highly reputable retired wine merchant from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, sold at Christie's, 25 November 1971.

One of the greatest clarets of the 20th century. Consistently superb: intensely coloured; highly distinctive, spicy bouquet and flavour. Concentrated yet elegant. Words fail... MB
