Provenance: an important cellar in Paris, sold at Christie's, 27 September 1979.

By 1877, phylloxera was spreading widely throughout Bordeaux. Lafite tasted twice, including an excellent bottle, recorked at the Chateau, fragrant, still retaining life-preserving tannin and acidity. MB
