FINE AND RARE RED BURGUNDY
This is surely one of the greatest collections of 20th century red and white Burgundies ever to have been assembled. There are wines from all the best sites and almost all the great vintages. Virtually every highly-regarded Domaine and merchant are represented.

Mr Lenoir Josey is obviously a passionate Burgundy lover and connoisseur, particularly of the reds of the Côte de Nuits and the whites of the Côte de Beaune. There are many bottlings from the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, and also extensive ranges from Henry Jayer, Armand Rousseau, de Vogüé, Ponsot, Leroy (both Maison and Domaine), Louis Jadot, Joseph Drouhin, Georges Roumier, Dujac, Emmanuel Rouget, J.Faiveley, Méo-Camuzet, Dr Georges Mugneret and many others. The range is mouth-watering.

There is an extraordinary breadth of crus and Domaines from the 1985 vintage. No vintage of the 1980's has currently greater beauty, harmony and elegance. Many of these 1985 bottles have now reached full maturity and make spectacular drinking, while the best have reserves of ripeness, sweetness and harmony which will ensure they may also be kept, if desired.

There is a wonderful collection of Dr Barolet bottlings from the early part of the century. There are also 1945s, 1947s, 1959s, 1961s, 1964s, 1966s and 1978s - all wonderful years in the region, from many great Domaines. There are also examples from many vintages in between. There is a fabulous selection of great reds from the 1990 vintage - mostly, of course, not yet fully mature.

The Burgundy enthusiast who wishes to fill gaps in the cellar, start a collection from scratch, or simply indulge him- or herself with some of the region's rarest, most thrilling wines will be hard pressed to decide where to allocate resources. AH
