A Meissen model of a water-bird
Circa 1745, blue crossed swords mark at back
Modelled by J.J. Kändler to the left, with its head turned and with finely incised plumage, its head, back of its neck and shoulders with brown plumage with black markings, grey and black breast feathers, brown and black wing and tail feathers and grey and black striped legs and feet, perched astride a green tree-stump applied with foliage and branches, on a circular mound base applied with green foliage (repair to beak and tip of both wings, some chipping to foliage)
