Two Meissen models of pugs, one with her puppy
Circa 1740, blue crossed sword mark to back and sides
Modelled by J.J. Kändler, the single pug seated on her haunches to the left, her head to the front, with black muzzle and tail and fine black and brown markings to her coat, her lower lip enamelled to show two teeth (restoration to tail and slight chip to right ear), 8½in. (21.5cm.) high; the group similarly modelled with her left forepaw raised and her puppy suckling beneath her (ears chipped, crack to neck, down her back from behind left ear and extended crack through chest and puppy), 9in. (23cm.) high (2)
