An assortment of desk diaries and social engagement planners, various years, 1955-1968, including: a Plan de Table book, inscribed in Fonteyn's hand in blue ink, giving details of seating plans, guests, menus, wines and in some cases dress or associated decoration information for various events hosted by Fonteyn and her husband at the Panamanian Embassy and elsewhere, various dates, March 22nd, 1955 - November 9th, 1956, various events listed include: dinners following performances of The Firebird, March 22nd, 1955, Lac des Cygnes, June 11th, 1955, Sylvia, August 23rd, 1955, Giselle, September 3rd, 1955, Shadow, Daphnis, Homage, February 3rd, 1956; After 'Major Barbara' with Moira Shearer, July 26th, 1956 and Bolshoi Ballet Last Performance, October 27th, 1956 - various guests listed include: Frederick Ashton, Jean Gilbert, Michael Somes, Danny Kaye, Dame Ninette de Valois, Ray Milland, Anton Dolin, John Gilpin, Sir Laurence and Lady Olivier, Mr and Mrs Ludovic Kennedy, Agnes de Mille, Erik Bruhn, Leslie Edwards, Merle Oberon and H.R.H. Princess Margaret; various ambassadors include: Cuban, American, Philippine, Finish, Swedish and Portuguese; and ten desk diaries, various years include: 1955, 1956, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1968, each inscribed in various hands, including Fonteyn's and Arias' with details of appointments, performances, rehearsals, social events and travel arrangements, the later diaries with fewer entries than the earlier ones, the 1962 diary with various entries concerning Fonteyn's first performance with Rudolph Nureyev, including: Mon. 19 February 1962: M.Dress rehearsal Giselle in Fonteyn's hand in blue ink; and Wed. 21 February 1962: 10.15 or 11.45. N.10.15 in Fonteyn's hand, and Giselle in another hand, the margin inscribed with a list of tickets for various individuals and the positions of their seats for the performance that night (11)
