Two pairs of pink satin ballet shoes, both by Freed, London, both with soles stamped with manufacturer's details and size 4, one pair with both soles inscribed in red ballpoint pen in an unidentified hand Fonteyn, one sole additionally inscribed in black ballpoint pen, probably by Fonteyn R and soft, the other inscribed R and G possibly to denote the ballets Giselle and Raymonda (worn); the other pair with the soles similarly inscribed in red ballpoint pen Fonteyn, one sole inscribed in black R and 1 G, possibly to denote the ballets Giselle, the other inscribed in black R, 3 and N, possibly to denote the ballets Raymonda and Nutcracker (worn); with a black and white still of Fonteyn as Giselle on stage with Rudolph Nureyev -- 10x8in.
