An ivory okimono of a woodcutter group
18th and 19th Century
carved with the figure wielding an axe and holding a stick in the other hand, seated beside a pile of tied sticks and tree stump, on an oval shaped base, signed -- 31/8in. (8cm.) wide; an ivory netsuke of a group of figures climbing and beside a thatched hut beneath a pine tree, signed red lacquer tablet to base -- 2in. (5.1cm.) wide; and another ivory netsuke of a seated Immortal wearing draped robes, on a rocky base -- 21/8in. (5.3cm.) high, (minor restoration to first piece).
