Details
Jaya Prakash Malla (2nd reign, 1750-68), Gold Mohar (5.50g), 873NS (RGV.352), traces of mount in obv. centre, otherwise very fine and extremely rare
Further details
This is the only type of gold mohar of the Malla dynasty that is available to collectors, and only about half a dozen specimens are known. It is probable that it was struck using Tibetan gold, which was traded as a commodity between the two countries.
