Teabowl and saucer showing the barefoot monk, a crucifix around his neck, smuggling a woman through the monastery gate hidden in a sheaf of wheat strapped to his back, the plate finely painted with the lovers Jupiter and Juno, an eagle and cherubs at their feet and a peacock to her side, within elaborate strapwork borders incorporating peacocks and enriched in gilt
