A NAPOLEON III LACQUERED-ORMOLU MOUNTED MARBLE ENCRIER
After Basil, second half 19th century
The rectangular verde antico marble base with rounded front corners and dished lozenge reserve to the front of top, a bust of Napoleon cast the the reverse Basil/1830 on a plinth mounted with an N between engine-turned covered ink wells with tripod eagle's claw-and-ball feet, on engine-turned short toupie feet, stamped D to each ormolu section
11½in. (29cm.) high, 12½in. (32cm.) wide, 7in. (18cm.) deep
