Lot Essay

This rifle is the first to have been produced in Giles Whittome's 'Mammoth' series of rifles. The action was designed by John Shirley and the rifle has been described by the Editor of British Rifleman as 'possibly the finest falling-block rifle ever made'. It has been the subject of numerous articles, reviews and test-firings in the shooting press worldwide. The stocking, engraving and finishing have been carried out to the very highest British gunmaking standards
