EDI KANTE
Edi Kante is the great ambassador for the Carso denomination in the Trieste Province. His six hectare estate is situated in the hills facing the Gulf of Trieste on the Adriatic Sea. This situation is tremendous for Kante as these hills are very steep and mineral rich, hence they become very hot rather quickly - which is a harsh contrast to the winters in the area. Cooling breezes allow the grapes to develop the unique varietal characteristics which Kante desires. The Carso Chardonnay is an excellent example of the effect of the heat and cooling breezes. It displays an array of aromas, which could generate hours of conversation; these are a function not only of soil and varietal, but of this fluctuation of hot and cool. The high level of alcohol perfectly balances the extract, allowing the wine to achieve a level of harmony and expression which is rarely encountered.
