TERRABIANCA
Swiss ex-patriot Roberto Guldener purchased Terrabianca in 1988. He was very fortunate as the vineyards were in tremendous condition. This allowed Roberto and his wife Maja to focus on building a winery, which would maximize their ability to produce wines of the highest quality levels. In an unreasonably short period of time they have not only achieved this, but also superceded it by a wide margin. Terrabianca produces Sangiovese based wines, which are monumental expressions of the terroir of Radda in Chianti. Campaccio is a wine which it is difficult to forget once it has crossed your lips. Composed of 70 Sangiovese and 30 Cabernet Sauvignon, it sings the praises of the soil from which it originates. Additionally, it embodies the idea of harmony; it is difficult to believe that the wine is barrique aged for twelve months, the tannins, alcohol, extract and ethereal aromas interact in memorable fashion. The Riserva is the quintessential proof of the above, as it spends two full years in barrique before it is released. It displays incredible depth of character and expression.
