Oval, with bright-cut engraving, the domed cover with pineapple finial, with straight spout and wood handle, the body with bright-cut engraving and monogram RRH, marked on base

The monogram RRH may be that of a Hunter, who married into the Ludlow Livingston families. Colonel Robert Hunter and his wife Ruth Breck Hunter were the parents of Elizabeth Hunter Ludlow and Gabriel Verplanck Ludlow, Eleanor Roosevelt's great-great grandparents.
