Each circular, the sides with laurel, the rims with acanthus, shells and flowerheads, the wood base with boss later engraved VMH (for Valentine and Mary Hall, Eleanor Roosevelt's Grandparents), marked on bases

Provenance
Warren Delano, Jr., Franklin D. Roosevelt's grandfather. He was in China from 1834 to 1846, and was a partner in the American China trade firm Russell & Co. from 1840-1846.
