Lot Essay

According to the vendor, who acquired this model from a Corgi employee, it was made by Corgi as a pre-production model to see what the finished version would look like. This pre-production model lacks the secret draw in the base for storing missiles, and the presentation plaque is a slightly different shape, with differently spaced lettering.

Ten finished models were made to be presented to H.R.H. The Princess Anne, Albert 'Cubby' Broccoli, Roger Moore and Barbara Bach amongst others, at the World Première of The Spy Who Loved Me, 7th July, 1977, Odeon Cinema, Leicester Square, London.
