The vendor's father, Patrick Weymouth, was Props Master on The Man With The Golden Gun and Live And Let Die.

Similar wooden elephants are seen in the film after Bond [Roger Moore], has escaped from Hai Fat's Martial Arts Academy. Bond steals a boat and whilst endeavouring to make his distance from his pursuers, is pestered by a small Thai boy who attempts to sell him a comparable, but not identical, model elephant. A few minutes later in the film, a street vendor's stall, stocked with similar model elephants, attracts the attention of an American tourist who happens to be the wife of Sheriff J.W. Pepper. She approaches the stall saying: I just gotta have me one of those cute little elephants...
