An interesting, if obscure, group of imitations (5): Denar, derived from the Quatrefoil and Short Cross type of Cnut, obv. concave quatrefoil within quatrefoil, rev. short cross voided with annulet in each quarter, meaningless legends, 1.24g, crimped, fine; Denar, obv. derived from the reverse of Pyramids type of Edward Confessor, rev. double lozenge, meaningless legends, 1.43g, very fine; Denar, obv. debased head left (?), rev. cross with annulet in each quarter, 1.17g, fair; Denar, obv. derived from the Regensburg type of Duke Henry V (1018-1026) of Bavaria with HC III R across field, 1.23g (Hahn 31), fair; Denar, derived from a Pofile left type (BMC I) of William I, obv. crowned bust left with sceptre in front, IOHAN , rev. cross fleury, IONOIOIOVIO, 0.79g, rather cracked, about very fine; a modern copy of a Denar of Jaromir of Bohemia (see lot 1314), obv. bust right, rev. cross with trefoil of pellets in three angles, reads IAROMIR DVX both sides (cf Cach 284, Odalrich), good very fine (6)
