Lot Essay

The S-chair was the first single-piece chair executed by Thonet in moulded plywood and can be seen as an advanced echo of the zigzag-chair, designed by G.Th. Rietveld.
The design was awarded the Rosenthal Studio Preis in 1966 and was presented on the Möbelmesse in Cologne in 1968.
