A Northern European willow bound piggin and tankard, 19th century
both of coopered construction, with alternatively coloured staves, the piggin with twin lugs -- 33/8in. (8.5cm.) high, 3¾in. (9.5cm.) diameter; the tankard lid with carved decoration of a hop leaf and flower and the monogram J M -- 7in. (17.8cm.) high, 4in. (10.2cm.) diameter (2)
