Pomerol, cru exceptionnel. Château-bottled
Very bin-soiled labels. Levels very top-shoulder
Tasting note: First tasted in double-magnum at a dinner at Château Loudenne during the 1996 harvest. Tasted twice since. Still very deep in colour and thick and oily in texture. Initially dumb on the nose but opening up slowly to reveal a sweet and unctious bouquet with notes of roasted meat. Very succulent and forward on the palate with soft tannins and generous rounded texture. Concentrated and warm. A hint of liquorice. Excellent sweet finish. Quite lovely. T.H.
