Daoguang seal marks in underglaze blue and of the period
Each decorated on the exterior in copper red with five phoenix medallions and on the interior with a single medallion, all reserved against a pale celadon ground covering the interior, exterior and base

Lot Essay

A similar pair of bowls, also with Daoguang marks, was included in the S. Marchant & Son exhibition, Qing Mark and Period Monochromes and Enamelled Wares, London, 12 - 24 July 1981, no. 36.
