SILVER VASE
20th Century, signed and sealed yukikatsu
Of ovoid form with short, cylindrical neck and rolled lip, cast in a greyish-silver and gilt patina, the eyes of the fish and side in relief with three carp swimming amongst water weeds, the carp gently stippled, the silver of the shoulder, neck and lip finished in a greyish-silver and gilt patina, the eyes of the fish and weeds gilded and the surface of the vase, simulating the water of the pond, slightly stippled, the silver of the shoulder, neck and lip polished, engraved on the base with a dedicatory inscription To Mr. W. R. Herod From F. Imashita Dec. 1960 and stamped jungin (pure silver), in wood tomobako signed Yukikatsu saku
