A JEWELLED BINDING SET WITH 35 GREEN AND RED GEM STONES, by Riviere and Son, dark green morocco, upper covers with a gilt fillet border, wide gilt floral corner designs of green morocco and red morocco onlays, incorporating a border of 14 red gem stones, surrounding a central arabesque strapwork design of brown morocco onlays embellished with 4 green gem stones and a large recessed central lozenge shaped panel of stylised peacock feathers set with a circle of 16 green gem stones and one central red gem stone all against a densely stippled gilt background (the lower cover in a matching design, the recessed panel with an elaborate gilt floral design), spine in six compartments, gilt-lettered in one, rest with brown and red morocco inlays, green morocco doublures turn-ins of strapwork design on densely stippled gilt background surrounding an all-over geometical design made up of red and blue morocco onlays against densely stippled gilt background, red morocco free endpaper decorated in gilt with green morocco onlaid strapwork design; green straight-grained morocco clamshell case (light rubbing to spine and edges). 4th edition of the Fitzgerald translation.
