The sitter was the daughter of Hendrik van Soeteren and Catherina von Hien. For their portraits and their historical background see lots 51 and 52 sold on 9 May 2000 in these rooms. The sitter married Richard Johan de Neree (1639-1686) in 1662 (for his portrait see the following lot).
