Lot Essay
Pieter Visbagh (c. 1634-1722) or 'Visbach' was born in The Hague. In 1646 he became pupil of Salomon Coster for a period of six years. Until Costers's death in 1660, Visbagh stays in Middelburg. In 1660 he takes over the workshop of the widow Coster. The following 25 to 30 years Pieter Visbagh is the most important clockmaker in The Hague.
