A large pair of Cantonese baluster vases
19th Century
with everted foliate rims and moulded mythical beast head handles, painted and gilt with shaped panels of ladies and dignitaries before terraces, birds and butterflies amid clusters of fruit and flowers, all on a ground of scrolling patterns, butterflies and flower sprays -- 24¼in. (61.5cms) high, (chip to rim).
