BMW's pre-war derived, shaft driven 250cc motorcycle, continued to be developed in the late 1940's, the R25/2 confirming its origins in retaining a hand lever gearchange, though now being fitted with the new foot operated change. A popular model it offered maximum performance in the region of 100 kilometers per hour.

This attractive example of was sold new to the UK, and remained in a single family ownership from 1956 until last year. The machine has clearly been well-maintained and cared for throughout this period, as it remains in very presentable, original order throughout. The extended pillion seat is understood to be an original option.

Presented for sale with a new registration document, current MoT and road fund licence it is therefore ready for the road, and on recent inspection started promptly and rode well. A new old stock Bing carburettor has been recently fitted, and it is suggested that it would benefit from correct setting up.

Two original BMW motorcycle brochures, a factory parts book and a small quantity of spares including enamelled tank badges accompany the bike.

A usable and charming motorcycle, which owing to its condition would make an excellent addition to any motoring, or motorcycling stable.
