The circular dial with Roman chapters and engine-turned centre, signed 'DWERRIHOUSE OGSTON & BELL', in a beaded and laurel bezel, the circular drum on a rectangular socle with rounded sides, each centred by a patera, on a rectangular plinth base centred by a foliate mount, on bun feet, with pendulum

Lot Essay

Dwerrihouse and Ogston of London are recorded in Davies Street in 1836. They are also recorded as Dwerrihouse, Ogston and Bell like the present lot and in 1840 as Dwerrihouse and Bell (G.H. Baillie, Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World, London, 3rd ed., 1951, p. 95).
