A well engineered model single cylinder table engine electrified for display purposes
with cylinder approximately 1½in. bore x 2½in. stroke, centrally mounted valve chest, separate steamways, barrelled connecting rods, studded stuffing box, gibbed and strapped big ends, lift-off eccentric rod, the cylinder mount raised on four tapered columns, spoked round rim flywheel with belt drive from an electric motor concealed in the wooden plinth, with switches, the engine finished in green, black and polished brightwork --19 x 11½in. (48.2 x 29.3cm.). Brass plate engraved 'This model represents the first Table Engine built by Bond, Turner & Hurwood and used in the St Peter's Works, Foundry Lane, Ispswich 1837'
