A French brass grande sonnerie carriage clock with alarm, circa 1890
The fluted pillars case with filigree mounts to the cornices , plain gilt mask to the off white enamel annular Arabic chapter ring, rubbed retailer's signature for Paris and Geneva, pierced gilt-brass centre, alarm ring below, the twin barrel movement with silvered platform to cut bimetallic balance with lever escapement, strike/repeat/alarm on two gongs to the backplate numbered 9027, with three position sonnerie adjustment lever to underside -- 6½in. (16.5cm.) high
