A French gilt spelter and porcelain mounted striking mantel clock, circa 1870
The case with urn finial and flanked by the figure of a woman with a chicken and a basket of eggs, with monopodiae supports to the sides and with inset porcelain plaques to the front, the porcelain dial with royal blue chapter ring and gilt bordered Roman reserves, decorated with flowers to the centre, with gilt hands, the twin barrel movement with countwheel strike on bell -- 16½in. (42cm.) high
