The lozenge-shaped giltwood and gesso frame with beaded inner edge and acanthus and anthemion mouldings, the glass dial with white ground and gilt decoration, scarlet ring register, signed in the centre LANDARD OPTICIEN PASSAGE DU CAIRE NO 49, with later hand -- 33½in. (85cm.) high
