A Chinese blue and white moonflask
18th century
of compressed double gourd form, the moulded handles with tear drop shaped terminals painted with lotus sprays, the body painted with stylised flowerhead roundels, the petal shaped panels reserved with scolling foliage, the neck with a thin band of trailing flowers and foliage -- 10in. (25.5cms) high, (one side with larger section restuck, hairline cracks to one handle).
