Warp: cotton, ivory, natural, Z5S, very fine, handspun
Weft: cotton, a.)ivory, natural, Z2S, 1 shoot, alternating with b.) dyed medium blue, Z2S, 1 shoot, equally wavy
Pile: a.) wool, Z2, or b.)silk, floss; asymmetric knots, open left, alternate warps depressed 50-60 degrees, H15 x V26
Sides: 1 bundle of 4 body warps, wrapped in dark blue Z2S wool
Ends: both are weft-faced blue cotton, Z2S plainweave averaging 1/4 inch; yellow/red embroidered cord sewn through
Colors: ivory, navy, red, deep green, brown-black, yellow, beige silk, yellow silk, pale green silk, taupe, straw, sapphire silk, green silk, rose silk, buff, white

The lavish use of silk highlights in so many colors as in this example, is rare to find on Fereghan rugs of any period.
