In Gothic taste; shaped oval, on four ball-and-claw feet, the stand with two pen troughs and two cylindrical inkpots with stylized finials, the central rectangular seal box with removable cover set with a taperstick and snuffer, with rope twist handles, the seal box cover engraved with a crest, marked under base, inkpot covers, seal box cover, and snuffer, also stamped R & S. GARRARD PANTON STREET LONDON
