A GEORGE III SILVER TEA URN WITH CASE**
Mark of Louisa Courtauld and George Cowles, London, 1772
Vase form on a square base with four ball feet, the incurved fluted stem and shoulder with laurel and beaded bands, the body chased with band of acanthus under ribbon-tied laurel bands with flowerheads between, with two upswept acanthus handles, the fluted spigot with animal mask spout and ivory tap, the domed cover chased with a foliate calyx and with a bud finial, the base and cover engraved with a crest, marked under base and on cover, the chamois-lined fitted case covered with leather stamped with a floral pattern, with brass furniture
20½in. (52cm.) high, the case 23.5in. (59.8cm.) high; gross weight 106oz. (3300gr.)
