The cross and featherbanded slant lid enclosing a yewwood and burr-elm interior of pigeonholes and drawers around an arched cupboard door, flanked by parcel-gilt composite columnar document slides, with velvet-lined writing surface above a further lined slide and three frieze drawers with two short and two long drawers below, with brass carrying handles to the sides, raised on bracket feet, the brasses and hardware replaced
