Lot Essay

Jules Jacques Labatut studied at the Ecole des Beaux Arts under Jouffroy and Mercié. He won the Prix de Rome in 1881, was a regular exhibitor at the Salon, and took home silver medals at the Expositions of 1889 and 1900.
