BEUGHEM, Cornelis à (fl. 1678-1710). Incunabula typographiae. Amsterdam: Johannes Wolters, 1688.
12o (127 x 71 mm). Collation: *6; A-H12 (*1r title, *2r dedication to Theodorus Janssonius ab Almeloveen, *3r author's preface, *5v Bible entries; A1r bibliography, G12v appendix, H12 blank). Woodcut vignettes and initials. Contemporary Dutch vellum, original endpapers.
Provenance: 18th- or 19th-century English purchase note.
FIRST EDITION OF THE FIRST BIBLIOGRAPHY OF INCUNABULA. Like Mallinckrot, Beughem employs the term to mean the beginnings of printing, rather than the books themselves. Although the title has 15 lines, it is clearly a cancel (cf. Breslauer and Folter 85). FINE COPY.
