Lot Essay

The Roycroft Community, East Aurora was set up by Elbert Hubbard in 1895 when he opened the Roycroft Press inspired by William Morris' Kelmscott Press. Metalwork produced at the community was organised by Karl Kipp who on joining the community in 1908 introduced a range of geometric designs that show the influence of Viennese designs.
