AN APULIAN RED-FIGURE COLUMN KRATER
SECOND QUARTER OF 4TH CENTURY B.C.
Side A: a woman dressed in a chiton, her foot resting on a rock, carries a situla and holds out a fillet in her other hand, a naked youth sits opposite with his cloak loosely draped around him, a thyrsos in his left arm and a wreath held out in his right hand
Side B: two youths wrapped in himations each carrying a staff, cross in the field
Two vertical columns of dots framing the scenes, a band of meander with dotted crossed squares below, and tongues around the shoulder, the neck panel with a band of ivy and dotted rosettes, on the rim overhang a row of double dots, rays above and with palmettes over the handles, repaired
