A GOLD RING WITH CONFRONTING BOARS
PROBABLY CIRCA 12TH-15TH CENTURY A.D.
The broad hollow hoop ornamented with two facing tusked boars, their bodies stretched out along the hoop in high relief, with detailed stippling for hair, flanking a high fluted bezel with serrated rosette border, set with trefoil-shaped gold partitions to take inlays (now missing)
1 1/16 in. (2.7 cm.) across hoop; ¾ in. (1.8 cm.) across inner hoop
