AN EGYPTIAN OPAQUE RED GLASS TYET GIRDLE (KNOT OF ISIS) AMULET
NEW KINGDOM, CIRCA 1250-950 B.C.
Of simple elongated form with details incised, made in two halves and joined together with gilded adhesive, pierced for suspension above, 2 1/8 in. (5.4 cm.) high; four dark blue core-formed glass ear-plugs, each wound with a white marvered spiral band, one with yellow rim trail, three with partial rims and one repaired, 1¼ in. (3.2 cm.) long max.; a rim fragment; and a blue penannular glass earring with applied blue and white twisted trail around perimeter, attachment hoop at one end (other missing), 1 in. (2.5 cm.) diam. max., all Dynasty XVIII, circa 1400-1300 B.C. (7)
