A Phalibois musical automaton trapeze artist
with acrobat flanked by two wooden musicians, papier-mâche landscape and fabric tree, on ebonised base containing the two-air pull-string cylinder movement and the keywind going-barrel automaton movement driving pinned wheels and a pulley and causing the musicians to turn their heads, strum with their right arms, and the acrobat to somersault on the bar while lowering his head, in polychrome silk costumes decorated with cut-paper decoration, under glass dome - 24 in. (61cm.) high with dome, the cylinder 2½. in (6cm.), (acrobat in need of adjustment), circa 1870
