A fine memorial to the most famous episode in Polar exploration. The plate is headed by the names of those who died, above a lengthy quote from Captain Scott's diary, a description of the manner of Oates' death, and three vignettes of the Terra Nova moored to the edge of the ice shelf, the five-man Polar team hauling a sledge and their final camp with the tent and sledge, as found by the relief party.
